He was drafted into the CFL (Canadian Football League) where he played as a fullback, first for the Calgary Stampeders then for the BC Lions. He ended his professional football career in 2004 when he was accepted into the CMCC’s Doctor of Chiropractic program.
Since earning his DC in 2008, Dr. Almon has consulted and treated numerous professional athletes & sports teams, including the Chinese National Speed Skating Team, PGA Tour athletes, Alpine Ski Ontario, FIVB Volleyball athletes, Vancouver Canucks development program, Canadian Women’s soccer team, professional sprint cyclists and multiple Olympic athletes in various disciplines. He is also a coach for the West Vancouver Track & Field Club’s varsity team.
Dr. Jeff founded MVMTLAB in 2013 with a vision to transform the health care industry by changing the way practitioners approach a patient’s pain /injury diagnosis and the subsequent treatment plan. He takes a special interest in complex cases of chronic pain. Dr Jeff treats patients with a focus on dynamic neuromuscular stabilization and reactive stability. Patients play an active role in their own recovery journey. Everyone is welcome - athlete or not.
He is the creator of MVMTLAB’s Neuroplasticity Gym and its two group classes : Ground Control and BAZOOKA. He designed these programs to accelerate an injured patient’s recovery time. Both classes can also serve as a pre-hab protocol to prevent injuries, by detecting imbalances and weaknesses before it is too late. The programs help reset movement patterns and muscle activation capability, thereby returning the brain & body to their pre-injury state. Ground Control is whole-body focused, whereas BAZOOKA is specifically for shoulders.
Dr. Jeff is always excited to share his knowledge and ideas on how to create a more functional human experience.
Dr Jeff works at our Gastown location from Tuesday to Friday, and at our North Vancouver location on Mondays.

I’m a registered physiotherapist with a strong focus on active, movement-based care and client education, relying on neuroplastic principles to guide intervention. My approach is thorough and personalized, taking time to understand how your body moves, what it needs, and how we can work together to restore balance, strength, and confidence.
Whether we are addressing pain, performance, or prevention, I aim to give you a clear understanding of what is happening, why it matters, and what to focus on between sessions.
Education is a key part of my approach. I want you to leave with a deeper understanding of your condition and a clear path forward. You will receive a personalized follow-up email outlining your plan and how to carry it out between visits. Progress comes from what we do together and from how consistently you engage with the work outside of the clinic.
You can choose from two initial assessment formats depending on your goals and how in-depth you would like to go. More detail is available through the booking page.
